The first day of training camp was one to forget for the Cincinnati Bengals and 2025 first-round pick Shemar Stewart.
The Bengals pass rusher had to be carted off the field following a gruesome leg injury on Wednesday.

Stewart, who was a star for the Texas A&M Aggies, was selected at No. 17 overall by the Bengals in 2025. Unfortunately, he played just eight games as a rookie with 11 tackles and 1 sack as he battled various injuries throughout the season.
Still, Stewart was expected to be a big piece of the new-look defense with new coordinator Al Golden.
According to ESPN’s Ben Baby, no imaging had been done just yet, but Stewart was wearing a protective leg brace and was seen on crutches after leaving training camp.
Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer also mentioned that Stewart wasn’t able to put any weight on his leg before he was taken off on a cart.
Stewart infamously took a long time to sign his deal last season, and he was the last first-round pick to come to terms on a contract.
Now, Stewart’s sophomore season might be coming to an end already, although the Bengals are hoping for the best when it comes to the imaging.
