Bill Belichick jokes about how ‘excited’ he is for injury report season
Bill Belichick has to be looking forward to defending his sixth Super Bowl championship with the New England Patriots this season, but that doesn’t compare to the level of anticipation he is feeling for being able to start releasing injury reports again.
Belichick, who is notorious for giving as little information regarding injuries as possible, joked on Monday that he is “pretty excited” official injury reports will start going out again in two weeks.

“I’m pretty excited to be able to give those out,” Belichick deadpanned. “Until then, we’re not able to do that, but I’m looking forward to it.”
Belichick has been in peak midseason form during training camp. His level of annoyance with the media already seems elevated, as we saw with an awkward on-field exchange he had with a reporter on Saturday over the Josh Gordon situation. Injury questions are his favorite, so it’s no surprise he’s bursting at the seam to starting answering more of them.
