The New England Patriots are remaining unsurprisingly tight-lipped about Jimmy Garoppolo’s status for Thursday night.
Coach Bill Belichick wouldn’t say when there would be word on Garoppolo, saying a decision could be made anytime between Wednesday and Thursday.
“It might be as early as this afternoon, it might be as late as when we turn in the inactives tomorrow night,” Belichick told 98.5 The Sports Hub on Wednesday, via Mike Reiss of ESPN. “We’ll just have to see how it all comes together. Any time you have a short week like this, you always have a few players that are banged up and working their way back. Where exactly they’ll be on game time Thursday night, a lot of times you don’t know until Thursday night.”
Belichick is going to give us nothing. That’s not a surprise. We’ve heard that the Pats really want Garoppolo to play, but it sounds like a race against time at this point.
