The 49ers play the Cardinals on Sunday and, as it’s customary, there was a press conference during the week at which time San Francisco’s quarterback was made available to the media. Unfortunately, in this case, media was not to be found.
Gabbert arrived for his press conference on Wednesday only to see the room empty. So, as CSN Bay Area’s Mindi Bach shared in the above photo, the Niners quarterback decided to take seat in the front row.
What did #49ers Blaine Gabbert do when he showed up for his press conference and no one was there?

#49ers Gabbert took a seat in the front row and got ready to ask some ?'s! He was a great sport about it. pic.twitter.com/31o0NFrRuC

As far as Gabbert, he showed up on time. The #49ers did not list him on today's schedule so the media didn't know.

Credit to Blaine Gabbert for showing up and being ready when he was supposed to be. It’s too bad no one knew he was there presumably wondering what was going on.
Since being named the team’s starter, Gabbert has completed 63 percent of his passes for 449 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in two games. San Francisco is 1-1 in those games with a win over the Falcons and a loss to the Seahawks. With Kaepernick’s season over after shoulder surgery, there will be more Gabbert press conferences to come. It’s safe to assume there will be people for him to speak with in the future.
