Earlier this year, it was the Seahawks who fell victim to a troll job by video game manufacturer EA Sports. This time, it was Blair Walsh.
Walsh, of course, missed a 27-yard field goal attempt with 26 seconds remaining in regulation during last weekend’s game against the Seahawks that would have given the Vikings a 12-10 lead and a likely victory. As, expected, Walsh’s girlfriend defended him on social media.
EA Sports posted the above photo on its Instagram account on Thursday. It shows Walsh lining up for the kick with projected trajectory way off to the left, the direction his missed attempt sailed. A caption of “#TBT to Sunday ?” was also included.
Such is the life of a kicker. If Walsh makes the kick, he’s lauded as a hero. Instead, Minnesota’s season is over, Walsh has to answer questions about how he missed a perceived easy field goal, and things like this photo happen.
