Brandon Aiyuk carted to locker room with apparent knee injury
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a potentially serious knee injury late in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Aiyuk suffered the injury after making a catch in the final minutes of the second quarter at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. He was sandwiched by cornerback Trent McDuffie and safety Chamarri Conner, forcing his knee to twist in ugly fashion.

Aiyuk was able to limp off the field to the injury tent, but was ultimately carted to the locker room. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after halftime.
The nature of the injury certainly raises concerns about a long-term absence for Aiyuk, who has had a very tough season already. His much-publicized training camp holdout was a distraction for the 49ers, and while he ultimately got a new contract, he has failed to live up to it. His numbers were down from last season entering Sunday’s game, as he had 23 catches for 351 yards and had yet to find the end zone.
Aiyuk caught seven touchdowns last year to go with 1,342 receiving yards.
