Brandon Marshall cannot avoid getting into conflicts even though the Chicago Bears’ season is over and his season ended weeks ago because of an injury.
Marshall was on the radio Monday for “The Brandon Marshall Show” on WMVP-AM in Chicago. He got into an exchange with Carmen DeFalco, who questioned Marshall’s behavior of getting into conflicts with Twitter followers and more. Marshall ended up calling DeFalco a clown and challenging him to box.
“You’re a clown,” Marshall said to DeFalco via the Chicago Sun-Times. “You’re a clown, and you shouldn’t be on the radio.”
Marshall also defended his Twitter behavior of challenging a tough guy to a fight by saying it’s all in jokes.
“That’s what you don’t understand,” Marshall said. “I’m gonna tweet you right now that I’m gonna box you. It’s Twitter bro. You think I take Twitter serious? … Like I said, you’re a clown. It’s Twitter. I’m calling you a clown because clowns think I’m gonna take Twitter serious.
“You take life too serious. It’s ok to have fun. I do it all the time on Twitter. If someone wants to act big, I play with them. I’m never gonna see that guy, unless I do.”
Marshall eventually said he and DeFalco should put on gloves and fight, but he later apologized for being too sensitive.
Marshall is a smart but troubled guy who has intelligent opinions on some things. However, you probably notice how frequently he has blowups, whether they are directed at media personalities, teammates or family members. All of this is typical behavior of someone who has borderline personality disorder, so it should not come as a surprise.
