Brian Urlacher reportedly being sued for $125 million by mother of his son

Brian Urlacher earned a total of more than $70 million during his 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears, and the mother of his 12-year-old son has filed a lawsuit demanding that the former linebacker fork over nearly twice that amount.

TMZ reports that Tyna Karageorge, who had a child with Urlacher in 2005, is accusing Urlacher of coming up with a story to convince officials and the public that Karageorge murdered her husband. Karageorge married a man named Ryan Karageorge after she had a son with Urlacher, and Ryan died from a gunshot wound to the head in Dec. 2016. The death was ruled a suicide. Tyna told police that she had been arguing with Ryan on the night of his death and that he reached for a gun and shot himself.

According to Karageorge’s lawsuit, Urlacher tried to convince people that she shot her husband in an attempt to be granted custody of the former couple’s son. Karageorge is seeking $25 million in compensatory damages and $100 million in punitive damages.

We haven’t heard much from Urlacher in recent years other than his criticism of the Bears’ quarterback situation, but there’s nothing like a $125 million lawsuit to get your name back in the news.
