Broncos expected to release Paxton Lynch
The Denver Broncos are finally giving up on a player they once thought could lead their franchise to great heights.
On Sunday, the Broncos claimed for Washington Redskins quarterback Kevin Hogan off waivers. That made it seem obvious that they will be parting ways with one of the QBs on their roster, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that QB will be Paxton Lynch.

Lynch was originally expected to make the Broncos’ 53-man roster, but they must have felt Hogan is a better fit. The former Memphis star struggled early in the preseason while being outshined by Chad Kelly, leading to a depth chart shakeup. Lynch was 14-for-29 for just 102 yards and an interception through his first three preseason games. He went 14-for-15 for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth preseason game, which led to speculation that he would be sticking around in Denver.
