With the Minnesota Vikings seemingly emerging as the early favorite to sign Kirk Cousins when free agency begins, some Denver Broncos fans are worrying that their team is going to be stuck with another sub-par quarterback in 2018. But here’s a friendly reminder: It’s far too early for that.
According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Reporter, Cousins has already narrowed down his choice to the Vikings and New York Jets. Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver has been given no indication that Cousins is that close to making a decision, and he cited sources on Monday who insist the Broncos remain firmly in the mix.

It would be bad for business if Cousins started ruling teams out before officially becoming a free agent, so it makes sense that “player sources” told Klis the Broncos are still a contender. You also have to think Cousins wants to sit down with John Elway and at least have a conversation, especially after the way things went for Peyton Manning in Denver.
We’re more inclined to believe the report about four teams being in the mix for Cousins, which seems a bit more reasonable.
