The Cleveland Browns are running a promotion that is not exactly popular with the team’s fan base.
The Browns announced through their social media accounts that they were running a promo with Dude Wipes, a disposable wipes brand marketed for men. The brand promised any Browns fan who registered a chance to win $50,000, depending on the result of Cleveland’s Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Dude Wipes would only shell out the money to a lucky fan if the Browns beat the Panthers by at least 22 points.
.@DUDEwipes is stepping up with a $50,000 giveaway 💰 If we beat Carolina by 22+ points, one lucky fan walks away with the prize. Secondary prizes up for grabs too!

Fans clowned the promotion, deeming it more likely the Browns would lose by 22+ points than win by the three-score margin needed to get just a chance at the cash.
This must be a joke. 22 points?

Have to be able to score 22 to be able to win by 22. This is so dumb lol

It’s not impossible for the Browns to win by 22 or more. Cleveland scored one such result last season in a 31-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7. But it’s only happened once over the last two full regular-season campaigns.
Fans were understandably perplexed that the team would run a promotion that had such a low likelihood of actually rewarding its fan base. Dude Wipes could have at least bumped up the dollar figure to make up for the long shot odds.
Based on the Browns’ 34-10 drubbing at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, Cleveland’s chances of clearing the 22-point bar for the fans are minimal at best.
