Report: Bruce Arians ‘front-runner’ for Buccaneers job
The odds certainly seem to be increasing that Bruce Arians’ retirement will be a one-year proposition.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Arians is the front-runner for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coaching job, and they would not owe compensation to the Arizona Cardinals, his most recent employer, if they hire him.
If the #Bucs hire Bruce Arians as their head coach — and he is the front-runner — they are not required to provide compensation to the #AZCardinals, sources say. Arians did retire in AZ, but his 2019 team option was declined. Tampa Bay can proceed without any obstacles.

Beyond the fact that Arians worked with Buccaneers GM Jason Licht in Arizona, Arians is also known to be a fan of Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston.
Jameis Winston is from Alabama, BA has adopted the state. And Arians has always believed in Winston. This makes a lot of sense. https://t.co/bhe0xPSuMS

Arians and the Buccaneers are said to have mutual interest, and he interviewed for the job Saturday. It certainly sounds like this one will get done.
