Bryce Young gave a reporter an answer earlier this week that must have been the equivalent of an interview pick-six.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback was interviewed by veteran reporter Dave Stevens, who was born without both legs, before the 2026 Hall of Fame Game against the Arizona Cardinals. Young crouched next to Stevens along the sidelines at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
Stevens asked Young about the possibility of having his name enshrined in the Hall of Fame someday. Young tried to stay humble in his response, but ended up making an accidental faux pas.
Young: “Definitely the goal, but that’s a long-term one right now. Can’t think too far ahead right now. It’s about being the best version of the team we are. Training camp’s about finding that, so I’m definitely where my feet are right now.
Stevens: “Speaking of feet, I don’t have any.”

Stevens, a 7-time Emmy winner, took the slip-up in stride and transitioned to his next question about where Young keeps his Heisman Trophy.
Young was visibly chuckling after realizing what he had just said, knowing he had just thrown a lot of fodder into the NFL meme machine.
Young, who did not take the field Thursday in the Panthers’ 33-30 win over the Cardinals, can take solace in the fact that his meme-worthy moment did not happen during game action. The same cannot be said for Will Levis, who once again became the internet’s punching bag during a Tennessee Titans scrimmage.
