Cam Newton leaves Panthers’ preseason game with foot injury
Cam Newton’s night on Thursday was brief.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback exited his team’s preseason game against the New England Patriots after three drives due to a foot injury. He got hurt on a third-down sack and received a medical examination on the sideline.

The Panthers quickly ruled Newton out for the rest of the game.
The former NFL MVP’s night did not go great. He was 4/6 for 30 yards and only led the Panthers’ offense to one first down in three drives. Newton is returning from offseason shoulder surgery. His arm strength, which declined at the end of last season, is said to have returned.
