Watch: Cameron Jordan takes dirty shot at Kyle Allen, gets penalty
Cameron Jordan is one of the most feared defensive ends in football, but we saw a different kind of hard hitting from the New Orleans Saints defensive end during Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Jordan picked up a 15-yard personal foul for throwing a punch at Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen in the first half. It appeared he was trying to punch the ball out, but the whistle had already blown as another Saints player had Allen in the grasp. The punch caught Allen in the head and chest area.
Cam Jordan…. what are you doing?

It was hard to tell where Jordan was trying to punch, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was probably going for the ball. That doesn’t make the play much less boneheaded, as the whistle had clearly blown.
Jordan had 9.5 sacks on the season entering Sunday’s game. He typically impacts the game in a very positive way for the Saints, but that was not his finest moment.
