The Cleveland Browns seemed to have some help from the zebras before Sunday’s game-winner.
Cleveland played in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. In the final minute of the fourth quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., the score was tied 24-24 with Cleveland driving from their own 45-yard line.
Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson fired a pass over the middle to tight end Harold Fannin Jr. After an impressive catch and run, Fannin got all the way down to the Titans’ 19-yard line.
That set up a game-winning field goal by Browns kicker Andre Szmyt as time expired. Szmyt converted from 32 yards to give Cleveland the walk-off 27-24 victory.
But fans were up in arms over a seemingly missed false start penalty by the Browns before Fannin’s pivotal catch. Cleveland right tackle Dawand Jones (No. 79) appeared to jump before the ball was snapped, which should have resulted in a five-yard penalty against the Browns, negating Fannin’s catch and run.
I have no idea how there isn’t a false start on Cleveland here on the play that got them in FG range. I mean, c’mon. https://t.co/JwWTOveVT4

The Browns have been a big surprise this year and improved to 5-2 with the victory on Sunday. But they also seemingly benefited from one of the NFL’s worst missed false starts that did not involve the Philadelphia Eagles.
