Carmelo Anthony posted a couple of messages to social media on Thursday that could be perceived as a shot at Knicks president Phil Jackson.
Earlier in the week, Jackson made a reference to Anthony having the potential to play a similar role for the Knicks that Michael Jordan played for the Bulls and Kobe Bryant did for the Lakers. Then Jackson followed that up by saying Anthony has a tendency to hold on to the ball too long.
After Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers, Anthony appeared to be annoyed when asked about Jackson’s comments. You can see what Anthony had to say here.
The following day, these two photos appeared on Anthony’s Instagram account accompanied by cryptic messages.
Now, Anthony could be talking about being the “bigger person” and “unphased” by a number of things. However, taking the timing into account, it would be understandable if you made a connection between the two posts and Jackson’s comments. Also, we have seen Anthony do something similar in the past. In February of this year, he tweeted a couple of messages that appeared to be responses to shots taken at him by former teammate Amar’e Stoudemire. You can see those messages here.
