Chad Johnson debuts for Montreal Alouettes (Video)
Having last played for the New England Patriots in 2011, Chad Johnson is back on the football field, this time north of the border in Canada. The former Pro Bowl wide receiver signed with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes earlier this year.
The Alouettes get there 2014 season under way on June 28. Friday, they played their final preseason game. Among the notable momenets from the 26-10 loss to the Ottawa RedBlacks was the debut of Chad Johnson.
Johnson finished with one catch for 13 yards and, understandably, said he isn’t near where he wants to be following the game.
Montreal finished the 2013 season with the second fewest passing first downs, third fewest passing yards per game, and worst completion percentage in the CFL. Whether Johnson can help improve any of those numbers remains to be seen. For now, he’s back to just having fun.
