Kansas City Chiefs fans were not happy with Chris Jones after Monday’s topsy-turvy matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lawrence rushed in the game-winning touchdown to give the Jaguars a 31-28 win over the Chiefs at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The decisive play started with a botched snap that left Lawrence lying on the grass, but ended with him screaming into the ESPN camera.
Fans couldn’t help but notice Jones’ effort — or lack thereof — as the play developed. After briefly battling at the line of scrimmage, Jones stood at the 1-yard line like a statue as Lawrence got back to his feet and ran into the end zone.

Several Chiefs fans took to social media to slam Jones for standing around with the game’s result hanging in the balance.

Some fans felt like reminding the world that the Chiefs signed Jones to a five-year, $159 million contract last year, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL. With Jones’ effort on Monday, you would have thought he was sulking over being underpaid.

Jones finished the game with one tackle and one QB hit. The Chiefs’ All-Pro defender hilariously had fewer tackles than Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase this week.
