Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was arrested on Monday and is facing a felony charge.

Ross was arrested in Shawnee, Kansas, on Monday. A booking report from the sheriff’s office in Johnson County states that the 23-year-old was charged with criminal damage of more than $1,000 but less than $25,000, which is a felony.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ross was accused of shoving his girlfriend to the ground and throwing objects at her after he viewed her phone and allegedly found out she had been cheating. Police also said Ross broke several of the woman’s valuable items during the altercation and scratched her Mercedes with a knife.

The Chiefs said Monday that they were aware of the arrest but did not provide any comment.

Ross signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson last year. He missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury.

There were rumblings during training camp that Ross was showing great chemistry with Patrick Mahomes, but that has not translated into regular-season success. Through seven games, Ross has just three catches for 34 yards.
