Report: Chiefs will listen to trade offers for Dee Ford
The Kansas City Chiefs are franchising one of their top pass rushers, and may even be open to trading him.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs will place the franchise tag on linebacker Dee Ford, but are at least open to listening to trade offers as the team shifts to a 4-3 defensive scheme.
Chiefs are placing their franchise tag on LB Dee Ford today and plan to play with him this season, but with the change to a 4-3 defensive scheme, they will listen to trade offers for their franchised player, per league sources.

In other words, Ford is not necessarily on the block, but it sounds like he could be reeled in at the right price.
Ford, who turns 28 in March, collected a career-high 13 sacks for the Chiefs last season playing in a 3-4 defense. He did, however, make a high-profile error that had huge ramifications on the AFC Championship, which somewhat unfairly overshadowed many of his successes.
