The Kansas City Chiefs like what they’ve seen from Kareem Hunt’s replacement.
The Chiefs have signed running back Damien Williams to a 2-year contract extension, according to Yahoo’s Terez A. Paylor. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says the extension is worth up to $8.1 million.
Williams, who is in his first season with Kansas City, was set to become a free agent after the season. He has come on in the past few games as a replacement for Hunt. He has five touchdowns over the last three games, and consecutive 100-yard games when you count his rushing and receiving yards.
Williams may split time with Spencer Ware in Week 17 and the postseason.
