The Denver Broncos added some depth at cornerback when they signed veteran free agent Adam Jones, and that can often be a way to motivate players heading into the regular season. Just don’t suggest that to Chris Harris Jr.
Harris, who has been one of the best defensive backs in football for several years, was asked on Monday if the Jones signing will create more competition and push other players at the position. He said he doesn’t need any pushing.
#Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. was asked today if Adam Jones coming in pushes him and everybody. Maybe creates some more competition:
“I’m the best. Ain’t no one pushing me."

The reaction from Harris isn’t a huge surprise, as the 29-year-old has never been afraid to speak his mind. He has also missed just one game in seven seasons and been named to the Pro Bowl three times, so it would be an understatement to say that his starting job is safe.
Jones will soon turn 35, and he said he has one goal in mind if he makes the Broncos’ final roster. If he proves he can still be productive, he should be able to contribute on a team that is looking to replace Aqib Talib.
