Chris Long signs one-year deal with Eagles

Chris Long Powerball

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran defensive lineman Chris Long.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo was the first to report the news, and his colleague Ian Rapoport added that the contract Long signed is similar to the one he played under with the New England Patriots last season.

Long took less money to sign with the Patriots last season because he wanted to contend for a championship, and he ended up helping the team win a Super Bowl. He hinted in a recent Instagram post that he has decided to leave New England because he wants an opportunity to play a bigger role, so the Eagles have likely offered the 32-year-old a shot at significant playing time.
