A five-time Pro Bowl player has decided to call it a career.
Veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley told Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports on Thursday that he is retiring from the NFL.
Mosley was released by the New York Jets in March following five seasons with the team.

Mosley, who turned 33 on Thursday, was one of the best linebackers in football during his prime. He had 100 or more total tackles in seven of his 10 NFL seasons.
Mosley began his career with the Baltimore Ravens, who drafted him with the 17th overall pick out of Alabama in 2014. The two-time college national champion and former SEC Defensive Player of the Year immediately became an anchor in the center of Baltimore’s defense.
Following five seasons and four Pro Bowl appearances with the Ravens, Mosley signed a five-year, $85 million deal with the New York Jets as a free agent in 2019. A groin injury cost him most of his first season with the Jets and he then opted out of the 2020 season, but he returned in 2021 to post a career-high 168 total tackles.
Mosley was named a Pro Bowl player for the fifth time in 2022.
Mosley played in just four games last season due to toe and neck injuries.
