CJ Stroud’s comments about Aaron Rodgers go viral
Aaron Rodgers is widely considered to be one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL, but it seems like Houston Texans star CJ Stroud believes the four-time NFL MVP has underachieved a bit in his career.
Stroud spoke about Rodgers and other NFL quarterbacks during an appearance on the latest episode of the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, which was released on Monday. Stroud had a few surprising takes, and one of them came while he was showering Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford with praise.
Stroud drew a huge reaction from the hosts when he said he would put Stafford on the same level as “Brady and them.” The former Ohio State star then said he believes Stafford would have multiple Super Bowl rings if the former Lions quarterback had the same supporting cast that Rodgers has had.
“He might be up there with (Tom) Brady and them, bro. I’m a student of the game. Stafford a dog, bro,” Stroud said. “You don’t understand, bro. That’s all I watch. I don’t watch nobody else. I’ll watch (Patrick) Mahomes at times because Mahomes does some stuff that, like, you can’t coach. Stafford, though, he will beat you with the same thing every time. … If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers had, I guarantee he might’ve had more rings, for sure. I’d say he’d have like three, four.”

It was obvious that Stroud’s goal was to talk Stafford up, not put Rodgers down. Though, Stroud also raised some eyebrows when said he would rather have Eli Manning’s career than Rodgers’ career.
Beware that the clip contains cursing:
WOW… #Texans QB CJ Stroud said he would take Eli Manning’s career over Aaron Rodgers legendary career, because of his two rings
“YOU WANT THE RINGS DAWG”

And even that wasn’t all Stroud had to say about Rodgers. Stroud also made some noteworthy comments about the way Brady treated teammates. He seemed to be implying that Rodgers has come up short in that department.
“You know what I think it is — I’ve talked to Tom Brady, about this because he’s a good mentor to me … what he told me is his teammates, and how he treats his teammates. And that’s where I think it falls off,” Stroud said, as transcribed by Thomas Christopher of Jet X. “We don’t know how Aaron Rodgers treats his teammates, but you can guarantee that Tom Brady treats his teammates right because how he got those rings.”
Again, Stroud did not take any direct shots at Rodgers. But he said enough that you can understand why the remarks got so much attention.
Stroud is coming off an impressive rookie season in which he led the Texans to the playoffs and made the Pro Bowl. He showed when he revealed his top-five NFL quarterbacks that he is not afraid to share his opinion, even if it leads to some criticism.
