Coby Fleener accuses some Colts players of not fighting, being ‘along for the ride’
Newly-minted New Orleans Saints tight end Coby Fleener is fresh off a four-year tenure with the Indianapolis Colts, and he offered a glimpse inside of a 2015 team that failed to meet expectations. Fleener, it seems, was less than impressed with the conduct of some of his former Colts teammates.
“I think it is one of those situations where it really reveals character,” Fleener told reporters during a conference call, via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. “The guys that kept fighting through it, knowing that we may not have our star quarterback on the field, but we still have a chance to win this game — those are the guys that you want in your corner. The other guys, it becomes pretty apparent that they are along for the ride.”
Fleener didn’t name names, but after an 8-8 finish, it’s clear that he wasn’t completely satisfied with everyone in the locker room. Considering their general manager had to clarify that he doesn’t hate the coach, those issues extended off the field as well.
