Cody Kessler exits Eagles’ preseason game for concussion check
The Philadelphia Eagles are having some bad injury luck during the preseason.
Backup quarterback Nate Sudfeld suffered a broken wrist during the team’s preseason game last week and is expected to miss six weeks. The next man up on the depth chart is Cody Kessler, who started Thursday’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kessler got destroyed on a blindside hit and was driven to the turf on a second down play. He actually was in the game for the following down and threw a pass, but the play was stopped for a medical timeout.
Kessler exited the game for a concussion check and fifth-round pick Claton Thorson entered the game.
Kessler suffered two concussions during the 2016 season with the Cleveland Browns. He spent last season with the Jaguars and signed with Philly over the offseason.
