Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld suffered a broken wrist during the second quarter of Thursday night’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, but the injury apparently sounds a lot more severe than it is.
Sudfeld underwent surgery on Friday morning and is expected to miss just six weeks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
After undergoing surgery this morning for a broken bone above his left wrist, Eagles’ backup QB Nate Sudfeld is expected to return in six weeks, per source. Best-case scenario for Philly.

That means Sudfeld could miss just two regular season games if all goes well, which is big for the Eagles. He has been expected to be Philly’s primary backup behind Carson Wentz, and they should be able to continue with that plan in Week 3 or Week 4.
Sudfeld has seen action in three games over the past two seasons and even threw a touchdown pass last year. He was 10/18 for 177 yards and a touchdown pass before getting hurt in Thursday’s game. With Nick Foles no longer on the Eagles’ roster, they need all the depth they can get behind Wentz.
