Chip Kelly implies Colin Kaepernick could take over starting role when fully healthy
Could Colin Kaepernick find himself back under center in San Francisco soon?
On Monday, Chip Kelly seemed to imply that Kaepernick remains the No. 2 quarterback largely because he’s not completely healthy.
Kelly: Colin Kaepernick is our number 2 QB. I don’t think he’s 100% right now so that’s why he’s our number 2.

That’s a very interesting qualifier. Starter Blaine Gabbert has been bad, and some observers have started calling for Kaepernick. Even an opponent questioned why Gabbert was allowed to finish Sunday’s game. Of course, there’s no indication as to how close to full health Kaepernick is, so it doesn’t necessarily clear anything up that much.
