Controversial WR names Aaron Rodgers as ‘dream teammate’

One big-name wide receiver appears to want the chance to play with Aaron Rodgers while he still can.

In an interview clip that went viral this week over TikTok and other social media platforms, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver George Pickens was asked to name his “dream teammate.” Without much hesitation, Pickens responded by name-dropping the ex-MVP quarterback Rodgers. Pickens also then mentioned defender Ed Reed, who is retired.

The clip drew significant attention online, in part because Rodgers has recently been linked to the Steelers in offseason rumors. Pittsburgh is facing quarterback uncertainty right now after Russell Wilson underwhelmed in 2024, and the 10-time Pro Bowler Rodgers would be an interesting option for them to throw in the mix alongside Justin Fields. That said though, not everybody on the Steelers is open to the possibility of adding Rodgers.

Pickens, 23, is the most talented offensive player on the Pittsburgh roster at the moment, and he has kicked off his NFL career with three straight seasons of 800 yards receiving or more, despite having inconsistency and constant turnover from the quarterback position. While Rodgers, who went 5-12 as the New York Jets’ starter last season, might not be the answer either, it seems like Pickens would definitely like the chance to catch passes from him.

Of course, Pickens’ own future with the Steelers is a bit of a question mark as he is entering the final season of his rookie contract and has been the subject of some troubling reports about his behavior. But at least for the 2025 NFL season, a Rodgers-Pickens tandem in Pittsburgh might not be the most outlandish possibility.
