The Dallas Cowboys may be serious about spending money this offseason.

The Cowboys are re-signing running back Javonte Williams to a three-year, $24 million contract, according to multiple reports. The agreement contains $16 million in guaranteed money.

Williams had been poised to become a free agent in March, but the Cowboys stepped up to make sure that is not happening. He is coming off his best season, as he racked up 1,201 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in a bounceback season after his devastating 2022 knee injury. He was second on the team in yards from scrimmage and first in touchdowns.

This is also a huge triumph for Williams, who had to sign a one-year, $3.5 million prove-it deal with Dallas last offseason. He has parlayed that into a huge payday.

The Cowboys’ next offseason priority may well be figuring out how to handle wide receiver George Pickens’ future. He is likely to be tagged, but that might not necessarily guarantee his return to the team for 2026.
