David Irving went on Instagram Live Thursday to make public his feelings on the NFL and its stance towards marijuana.
Irving, who appeared in just two games for the Dallas Cowboys last season, was suspended indefinitely last week for a third drug-related ban of his career.
He said on Instagram that he’s done playing in the NFL until the league changes its stance on marijuana. He says he uses it to deal with pain rather than opiates, believing it’s much better for you.
“I go through a lot of pain. I don’t miss games unless it’s physically impossible for me to play. Nothing helps better. Nothing’s easier on your body; it’s natural,” Irving said.
He also said that while he loves football, he doesn’t love the NFL.
