DeAndre Hopkins gets five-year extension, major guarantee
The Houston Texans are setting up their contract situations entering the 2017 NFL season, and they’re taking care of key offensive talent. To that end, the team reached agreement with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on a five-year extension.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Hopkins is getting the largest guarantee for any wide receiver in the league.

The full deal calls for $81 million, reportedly with nearly $50 million guaranteed.

Hopkins, the No. 27 overall pick out of Clemson in 2013, has been a big playmaker for Houston since entering the league. He enjoyed a career-year in 2015 with 111 catches, 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns. The thinking is that with a better quarterback throwing to him, Hopkins will be able to produce at similar levels to what he achieved in 2015.
In addition to extending Hopkins, the Texans on Thursday gave fullback Jay Prosch and tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz 3-year deals.
Texans signed FB Jay Prosch to a 3-year, $5.75 million extension, including $2.7M gtd, per source.

Texans gave TE C.J. Fiedorowicz a three-year, $21.5 million extension that included $10 million gtd, per source.
