Free agent RB DeAngelo Williams wants to play for Packers
The Green Bay Packers were hit by injuries at the running back position on Thursday night, and DeAngelo Williams would love to help them with their issue.
Starting running back Ty Montgomery left the game with what the team termed a chest injury (later reported as broken ribs). Rookie running back Jamaal Williams replaced Montgomery and then hurt his knee. That prompted NFL Media senior analyst Michael Fabiano to joke that the Packers might need another wide receiver to convert to running back, just like they did with Montgomery.
The Packers might need another WR to play RB if this keeps up…

Williams saw Fabiano’s tweet and then essentially threw his hat in the ring.

Williams is 34 and remains a free agent. He played the last two seasons with the Steelers after playing his entire career with the Panthers previously. Maybe the Packers will give him consideration.
