Report: Derrius Guice falls in draft due to accountability issues
Derrius Guice fell in the 2018 NFL Draft, leaving many scratching their heads.
Guice was identified by many as a potential first-round talent. Despite that, he still was on the board through 50 picks of the draft. Six running backs had been taken ahead of him by that point, including three others from the SEC.
So why did the former LSU running back remain on the board for so long? ESPN’s Todd McShay said he heard there were concerns about Guice’s accountability.
“He had a very poor pre-draft process in terms of interviews, not being where he should be at the times he should be. Being late to meetings. I’ve talked to a lot of general managers who are concerned about accountability,” McShay said.
There were some rumors that TMZ was holding onto a story about Guice, but the outlet denied that.
Here are some other theories that were shared regarding Guice’s slide.
Love him as a player & all of my personal interactions with him but talked to a couple of people today that told me Derrius Guice is falling because of "concerns" & "issues". Very specific.

Mike Mayock just said Derrius Guice has "issues we all know might come up later today." If Mayock knows something about Guice he should report what he knows. If he just means the rumors about a TMZ story, which TMZ has already said it doesn't have, he was wrong to say that.

Before the draft, Guice was the subject of an investigation regarding what he felt were inappropriate combine questions. At the time, he was described by some as “high-maintenance” and “immature.”
