DJ Fluker was bit in eye by bug during game, could only see out of one eye
San Diego Chargers offensive lineman D.J. Fluker had to help open holes for Melvin Gordon on Sunday with only one properly functioning eye.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed on Monday that Fluker was bit in the eye by a bug during the game. The bite left one of his eyes swollen to the point where the former first-round pick could not see out of it.

Agent @DerykGilmore sent me this picture of #Chargers OL DJ Fluker from post-game. Yikes! Solid work with one eye. pic.twitter.com/dCg1QFBfqb

That does not look like fun.
Despite the unusual injury, Fluker helped Gordon rush for a whopping 196 yards in a win over the Tennessee Titans. Fluker is one of the main reasons Gordon has broken out in his second NFL season, so the Chargers are fortunate he was able to play through the brutal bite.
While it may be hard to believe, this is not the first time a bug bite has caused problems in the pro sports world. Fluker should consider spraying himself with some repellant before next weekend’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
