Report: Dolphins give Jarvis Landry permission to seek trade
The Miami Dolphins reportedly have given Jarvis Landry permission to seek a trade.
The Dolphins franchise-tagged Landry on Feb. 20, wasting no time doing so. Their quick action led some to wonder whether they were tagging him with the intent to keep him or trade him. It sounds like they are open to a deal.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday night that the Dolphins have given Landry and his representatives permission to search for a deal.
Miami has DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills at receiver, so they have some depth in case they lose Landry, who caught 112 passes for 987 yards and nine touchdowns last season. The franchise tag is likely to pay $16 million next season, so any team that would explore a trade for Landry would likely want to see if they can agree to a longterm contract with the receiver before giving up assets for him.
