Dolphins not ready to name Ryan Fitzpatrick starting QB
It’s widely expected that veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the nod for the Miami Dolphins’ quarterback job, but coach Brian Flores isn’t going there quite yet.
Fitzpatrick will start the team’s third preseason game ahead of Josh Rosen, and has been widely considered to be in the lead throughout camp. Flores, however, said it would be wrong to deduce that Fitzpatrick is set to start in Week 1.
Brian Flores says even though Ryan Fitzpatrick is starting Thursday, it is NOT accurate to think he's the projected starter for regular season opener.

Flores has been tough on Rosen throughout camp and has been somewhat critical of him, but has actually paid him some compliments recently. Rosen may be trending in the right direction, but the conventional wisdom remains that Fitzpatrick is far likelier to get the nod for the season opener.
