Doug Baldwin: Tyler Lockett playing through torn PCL
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has been hobbled ever since suffering a knee injury in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. But the issue may a bit more serious than the team had been leading us to believe.
After a 27-17 win over the New York Jets in Week 4, fellow Seattle wideout Doug Baldwin revealed that Lockett has actually been playing through a torn PCL in his knee.
“The work ethic in this locker room is second to none,” Baldwin said, per Dan Graziano of ESPN. “You have guys like Tyler Lockett, playing with a PCL tear. Jimmy Graham shouldn’t be playing right now. Christine Michael, guys like that, playing through the stuff they’re playing through. It’s inspiring to be a part of it.”
Lockett was targeted three times in the victory on Sunday, catching one pass for 13 yards. Baldwin and Graham have been doing most of the heavy lifting in Seattle’s passing game as of late, which has taken some weight off Lockett’s shoulders as the team has moved to 3-1 on the season.
Wide receivers have played through similar injuries in the past, but fortunately for Lockett, the Seahawks have a bye in Week 5. Hopefully that’s enough time for the 24-year-old to get closer to 100 percent for a home game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.
