Drew Brees sets completion percentage record in same game as touchdown record
Leave it to Drew Brees to set a new second record while breaking another record
Brees passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns in his New Orleans Saints’ win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. His third touchdown pass of the game gave him 540 career touchdown passes, which broke Peyton Manning’s record.

As if becoming the all-time career passing touchdowns leader weren’t enough, Brees also went 29/30 in the game. The 96.7 completion percentage broke Philip Rivers’ record for best completion percentage in a game in league history. Brees completed his final 22 passes to reach that mark.
And how much of a perfectionist is he? He said after the game the one incompletion will haunt him.
“I’ll be honest with you,” Brees told ESPN’s Lisa Salters, “you always think about the one you miss. If I just set my darn feet and throw it to the running back, it’s 30 for 30. That one may haunt me for a little while.”
For his career, Brees has now led the league in passing yards seven times, completions six times, completion percentage six times, and passing touchdowns four times.
