Legendary former linebacker Lawrence Taylor was hospitalized on Friday after suffering a medical emergency.
TMZ was the first to report that Taylor has been hospitalized in New Jersey due to the unspecified medical problem. The 67-year-old was initially admitted to the emergency room before being taken to a different part of the hospital.
Sources close to Taylor told TMZ his issue does not appear serious, though he remains hospitalized. TMZ’s Michael J. Babcock later added that Taylor is unlikely to be released from the hospital Friday, but that his condition is not considered life-threatening.
Some more info on Lawrence Taylor — I'm told he's still hospitalized in New Jersey, and the expectation is that he will NOT be released today, as he continues to be evaluated by doctors.

Unclear what LT is dealing with, but I'm told it's not life-threatening.
Taylor has had no known health issues recently. Earlier this month, he was photographed visiting coach Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
Taylor is regarded by many as the greatest defensive player in NFL history and won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants. Since the end of his career, he has dealt with health issues and substance abuse problems, which he has discussed publicly.
