Drew Brees sets unbelievable career first against Cowboys
Drew Brees is 39 and has been playing in the NFL since 2001. Somewhat unbelievably, he went his entire career without doing something until Thursday night.
Brees’ New Orleans Saints began their game against the Dallas Cowboys looking sluggish on offense. Brees threw three straight incompletions on the team’s first possession, leading to a punt. On their next possession, the Saints ran the ball twice before Brees threw incomplete on third down.
That meant Brees went 0-for-4 to start the game — the first time he had ever began a game 0-for-4 on passes, according to FOX’s broadcast.

Things did not get a ton better for the Saints’ offense the rest of the half. They had another incompletion on a drop, and then they got stuffed on the Dallas 2-yard line for a turnover on downs.
Brees entered the game completing 76.4 percent of his passes for 3,135 yards, 29 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions this season.
