The Philadelphia Eagles are sorting through the future of quarterback Nick Foles.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Eagles will pick up Foles’ contract option for next season, which is not a surprise. What happens next is less clear, as Foles may essentially pay $2 million to buy out his contract. That would lead to either the Eagles letting him walk, a possibility Rapoport thinks is more remote, or the organization franchise tagging him and working with him to find a suitable trade.

We had previously heard that the tag and trade scenario was unlikely, but Rapoport seems to believe there’s at least a chance of it. The only thing we seem to know for sure is that Foles isn’t going to be with Philadelphia next season.
