Edgerrin James has passed his incredibly athletic genes onto his sons, and one of them may have the best name in sports.
James’ son Edgerrin James Jr. plays basketball at the University of Cincinnati. Many people did not realize James Jr. is the son of the Hall of Fame running back, however. That is because the younger James does not go by Edgerrin.
So what does he go by? Jizzle. He goes by Jizzle.

A fan shared a screenshot of Jizzle James’ ESPN stat page on Wednesday and it went viral. Most people had no idea Edgerrin James’ son was a sophomore guard at Cincinnati, let alone that James’ son is Jizzle James.
Edgerrin also has a son who plays college football. Eden James is a running back at Howard and is entering his senior season.
Jizzle James has been a solid player for Cincinnati this season. He is averaging 12.2 points, 3.8 assists and 3.0 points while playing 25.7 minutes per game. He has started all 26 games for the 15-11 Bearcats.
The elder Edgerrin spent 11 seasons in the NFL and made the Pro Bowl four times as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards seven times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
If Cincinnati can find a way to make the NCAA Tournament, it would not be a surprise to see Jizzle become a fan favorite.
