Eli Apple responds to critics following Super Bowl performance

Eli Apple

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple had a fairly rough Super Bowl. Plenty of people were eager to remind him of that fact, considering how many fellow players he’s rubbed the wrong way.

On Thursday, Apple finally responded to the countless comments from fans and players alike following his performance in the Bengals’ loss. In a caption on Instagram, Apple warned his critics that he will be coming back with extra motivation in 2022, stating that those critics “reawoke a fire in me that will only make me stronger.”

Apple had been trash-talking some accomplished foes on his way to the Super Bowl. That came back to bite him when Cooper Kupp roasted him on the Rams’ game-winning drive, which led to all sorts of memes and comments.

If Apple is going to dish it out, there will be times he also has to take it. This is one of those moments, and encouragingly, he offered the sort of response you would want to see come from it.
