Eli Manning: You can get real sick of Odell Beckham’s antics

Odell Beckham crying

Odell Beckham Jr. is quickly turning himself into a classic “diva” wide receiver along the same lines of a Chad Ochocinco or Terrell Owens from the past. And his actions are getting old for Eli Manning.

The New York Giants quarterback joined WFAN on Monday and said ODB’s actions are getting old.

“I think with the win you can ignore it a little bit easier. Kind of let the coach handle — obviously we got to be careful about getting penalties late in the game and putting our defense in a bind right there,” Manning said of Beckham getting a 15-yard penalty.

“He made plays and so it’s one of those deals where you can get real sick of it if he’s not going out there and making plays. But when he goes out and has a couple of huge catches and 200 yards and a game-winning touchdown, you still want him to be smarter, but you accept it a little easier.”

Beckham had 8 catches for 222 yards and two touchdowns against Baltimore in Week 6, including the game-winning score. It was his first monstrous game, though not the first time his behavior has been called into question this season. Unfortunately for Eli, the penalties may just be the bad in what you have to take with Odell’s good — which is his tremendous play on the field. It doesn’t seem like Beckham will be changing.
