Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick have been linked for their involvement in national anthem protests and their lawsuits against the NFL, but one of the two will soon be playing in the league again.
On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers announced that they have signed Reid to a contract.

Like Kaepernick, Reid sued the NFL earlier this year for collusion. Both players have insisted team owners banded together and refused to sign them because they have been leaders with the anthem protest movement. They have been represented by the same attorney in their fight against the league.
Reid met with the Cincinnati Bengals during the offseason, and one report indicated the team made it very clear to him that he was expected to not partake in national anthem protests if signed. He had previously said that he did not plan to kneel in 2018, but he was supposedly unwilling to make any promises to the Bengals.
