Eric Weddle drops amazing quote about injury after re-retiring
Eric Weddle had perhaps the most remarkable postseason of anyone in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams summoned him out of retirement due to injuries, and he stepped in as a reliable starter on the way to a Super Bowl title.
Weddle suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win, though he played the entire game in spite of it. He had a good reason: Weddle is returning to retirement, and as he put it, he will have plenty of time to get healthy now.
Rams S Eric Weddle just told me that he tore his pec. “I have a long time to recover.”

Weddle got quite the sales pitch in order to return for the Rams’ playoff run. Despite the injury, he definitely won’t have any regrets in light of how it ended.
The 37-year-old veteran was strong in what was the first Super Bowl appearance of his career, collecting five total tackles. Now he can ride off into the sunset with a ring, albeit along with an injury.
