The attorney for Ezekiel Elliott shared a statement on Thursday regarding the lawsuit the Dallas Cowboys running back is facing.
NBC DFW reported on Thursday that a $1 million lawsuit was filed against Elliott over a car collision involving the two men in Jan. 2017. The driver who was hit by Elliott claims he is still having health issues related to the crash. The man is said to be a fan of the Cowboys and filed the lawsuit reluctantly, but did so to get some movement on the case being resolved.
“Almost two years have now passed and there’s been more than enough time and more than enough information provided for this claim to get resolved,” the victim’s attorney, Quentin Brogdon, said.
Elliott’s lawyer says the lawsuit isn’t as bad as it seems and that Elliott is being sued individually because Texas is a “direct action state.” They are hoping that Elliott’s insurance company will step in to resolve the situation.

The victim in the incident had enough damage to his BMW that it was considered a total loss. At the time of the accident, Elliott joked about the collision not being too bad.
